Common Questions answered plainly

The questions that arrive with almost every enquiry, answered plainly — each one linked to the clause that governs it, so you can check the wording yourself.

Booking

How much does a charter cost?
There is no rate card, because a charter is never a per-hour number. What you pay depends on the vessel, how long you are on the water, how many guests, what is being served, and the season — New Year is not December, and December is not August. Tell us the shape of the day and you get back one written figure covering the vessel, the crew, catering, AV and every supplier in it. No line-item surprises later.
Does enquiring commit me to anything?
No. An enquiry places you under no obligation and carries no cost. A proposal is an invitation to book, not a reservation — nothing is held and nothing is owed until you accept it in writing.
Clause 2 of the terms →
What is actually in a proposal?
The services included, the dates, the total price as a single all-in figure, the payment schedule, and the cancellation terms that will apply to your booking. Where something depends on a permit, a berth or a supplier hold, the proposal says so explicitly rather than leaving you to find out later. A proposal is valid for fourteen days unless it states otherwise.
Clause 2 of the terms →
How do I book, and when is the date actually mine?
A booking is confirmed when two things have happened: you have accepted the proposal in writing, and the deposit has reached us in cleared funds. Until both are done, the date is not held. On confirmation you get a written booking confirmation — that document, the accepted proposal and the terms are the whole agreement. Anything discussed but not written down is not part of the booking.
Clause 3 of the terms →
How far ahead should I ask?
Team days and hospitality: four to six weeks. Anything needing production — staging, screens, branding — eight to twelve weeks. Peak season and New Year: as early as you can. Shorter notice is often still possible, because availability moves constantly. Ask before assuming a date is gone.
Corporate programmes →
When do I pay, and how?
A deposit on confirmation, and the balance in cleared funds by the date on the proposal — ordinarily no later than fourteen days before the day itself. Bookings confirmed inside fourteen days are payable in full on confirmation. Prices are in UAE Dirhams and a valid VAT invoice is issued where applicable.
Clause 4 of the terms →

Changes and cancellations

What happens if the weather turns?
Safety comes before everything else, and the captain's decision is final. If a charter cannot safely go ahead because of weather, sea state, visibility or a marine authority instruction, you choose: another date at no extra charge, or a full refund of everything paid for the affected part.
Clause 7 of the terms →
Can I change the date, the timings or the guest numbers?
We will always try, and we will tell you in writing whether it is possible and what it costs before anything is committed. Two things worth knowing early: increases in numbers depend on capacity and supplier availability and may change the price, and reductions notified after the final-numbers date do not reduce it — by then the commitments have already been made on your behalf.
Clause 5 of the terms →
What if I have to cancel?
Cancellations must be in writing and take effect the day we receive them. Your charges are set out in your proposal and agreed before you commit — never invented afterwards. Where a proposal is silent, the default is: more than thirty days before, the deposit; between thirty and fourteen days, half the total; fewer than fourteen days, the full amount. If we recover any committed supplier cost, we refund it to you.
Clause 6 of the terms →
Could you cancel on me?
Only for safety, force majeure, or a supplier failure outside our control. We may make minor changes — an equivalent or better vessel, an adjusted route, a comparable venue — and will tell you as soon as we know. If we make a significant change or cancel, you can accept it, take an alternative, or cancel and receive a full refund of everything paid to us.
Clause 8 of the terms →

On the day

How many guests can we bring?
Up to twenty suits intimate hospitality; twenty to forty works for team days and seated dinners; forty and above is launch and gala territory. Comfortable capacity is always lower than licensed capacity, and we size for the format rather than the maximum — a boat filled to its licence is not a good evening.
Corporate programmes →
Is alcohol served? Can we bring our own?
Alcohol is served only where the vessel, venue or supplier holds the licence for it, and only within that licence. We confirm the position in writing as part of the proposal. Where the licence does not permit service, nothing may be brought aboard or consumed. During Ramadan and certain public and religious occasions, licensing, entertainment and music restrictions apply across the UAE and Oman — if your date falls in such a period we set out what applies before you commit.
Clause 11 of the terms →
What if we are running late?
Late arrival does not extend a charter, and no refund is due for time lost — the berth, the crew and the suppliers are booked to the hour. If you are delayed, call the number on your booking confirmation as early as you can and we will do what the schedule allows.
Clause 9 of the terms →
Who is responsible for the guests?
You are, for the duration of the service, including making sure everyone follows the instructions of the captain, crew and guides. Guests need to arrive on time, carry photographic ID where a marina or venue requires it, and comply with UAE or Omani law.
Clause 9 of the terms →
Do you take photographs?
We may photograph or film during a service for our own promotional use. If you or any guest would rather we did not, tell us and we will not.
Clause 12 of the terms →

Practical

Where do you operate from?
Dubai Marina and Palm Jumeirah, Mina Rashid, and Yas Marina in Abu Dhabi. If you have no preference we will recommend the one that suits the route, the guest list and the traffic on the day.
Yachts & Waters of the terms →
Do you run anything outside Dubai?
Yes. Abu Dhabi year-round, and Salalah in Oman during the khareef season from June to September, when the monsoon turns the Dhofar mountains green. Sri Lanka is in planning — you can register interest now.
Tours of the terms →
Are the boats licensed and insured? Do I need my own cover?
Every vessel we charter operates under the licences and insurance the relevant maritime authority requires, and every supplier we contract must hold appropriate cover for their activity. That protects the operation, not your losses — so you are strongly advised to arrange your own travel and event insurance covering cancellation, curtailment, medical expenses, personal accident and personal property. Watersports, diving and desert driving carry inherent risk and guests take part at their own.
Clause 10 of the terms →
Half of this is other companies' boats and staff. Who do I actually deal with?
Us. Where a vessel owner, licensed tour operator, caterer, venue or transport provider delivers part of a programme, we contract them on your behalf and stay your single point of contact from the first enquiry to the invoice.
Clause 1 of the terms →
Something went wrong. What now?
Tell the captain, guide or supplier at the time if you can — most things can be put right on the spot. Anything unresolved, put it to us in writing and we will investigate and come back to you.
Clause 14 of the terms →
How quickly will someone reply?
Within one working day. If your date is inside two weeks, say so in the first line and it moves up the pile.
